Dignity in Action

 
Every man, woman and child on this planet should have the opportunity to live a dignified life. The fact is that dignity resides in each of us, despite the obstacles we face.  

Global Dignity began as a powerful idea, inspired by three friends, concerned globalcitizens, and members of the Forum Young Global Leaders. The mission of Global Dignity is to create and inspire a positive new language in the world – one centered around and rooted in dignity and service.  Dignity, it became apparent to us, was the one thing that everyone in the world could agree on, irrespective of our differences.  At a time when there appear to be tensions between religions, regions and political ideologies, we can all still agree that we want and desire the same thing - dignity.

Since that day in the mountains of Zermatt, Switzerland in September of 2006, we have worked with dozens of other Young Global Leaders from around the world, holding and hosting what have become known as “Dignity Days;” going into local indigenous communities and schools around the world, and teaching “ A Course in Dignity” to the young people there.
